All Gharaz jewellery is hand polished before sale, but silver can naturally oxidize and develop tarnish when exposed to air. Liquid cleaners should not be used for carved silver jewellery, as the liquid can settle into engravings. Gold-plated silver jewellery may gradually lose its plating with prolonged wear, but it can be re-plated to restore its original appearance. Avoid cleaning gold jewellery with detergents, soap, or toothpaste, as these can damage the finish.
